Teresa Chinn is a Registered Nurse, and Professional Social Media Community Development and blogger for WeNurses.

Teresa was an agency nurse who found herself professionally isolated and reached out to social media to connect with other nurses. Teresa runs WeNurses which is primarily a Twitter-based real time weekly discussion that enables nurses to share ideas, information, experience and expertise around a predetermined subject.

WeNurses has grown and developed significantly and now has a following of over 100,000. Teresa has dual roles – the first as a social media specialist and working with healthcare organisations, speaking at conferences and providing social media consultancy and the second is in adult social care for the Bristol based charity Brunelcare.

In 2005 Teresa received an MBE for services to nursing. In 2022 Teresa was awarded the Queen’s Nurse status by the Queen’s Nursing Institute.

Ethel is a registered mental health nurse with over twenty three years’ experience in the field. Ethel has worked in inpatient and community settings in central London, Manchester, Berkshire, Devon and Hertf ordshire in the United Kingdom. Over the years she has acquired local, reg ional and nat i onal leadership positions and has made an impact through motivating the masses to positive change in service development. Ethel strongly believe that learning never stops and therefore seeks to ensure that clinical interventions are in line with current research and evidence-based clinical practice.

Ethel went on to train as a Cognitive Behavioural therapist at the University of Reading UK i n 2008. The combination of nursing and psychotherapy has proved a massive advantage in ensuring clinical practice standards are holistic and robust. Amongst many ambitions Ethel is passionate about workforce development, retention, clinical quality, multi-disciplinary evidence based interventions and service user safety and experience.

Ethel lives by personal values, which are compassion, gratitude, respect, kindness, and principles which are integrity, responsibility, accountability, and transparency. One thing that has been evident throughout Ethel’s nursing career is her commitment and dedication to quality care, sustainable recovery of service users and workforce retention and development. Ethel is a trained mentor and coach and currently mentors nurses and leaders in healthcare. Currently she is pursing her professional doctorate within mental health, with a focus on black men’s mental health: understanding the barriers to accessing mental health support. Ethel is the author of her recently published book titled, Take Action: how to do the things your mind is screaming at you to avoid.

Sean Kennard, BSN, RN, is the founder of Nurse Acumen and a “non-conventional thinker” who served ten honorable active-duty years in the US Air Force before catapulting his career from Floor Nurse to Program Director in under two years of becoming a nurse, despite having ADD. Sean found that his true calling was helping other non-conventional nurses achieve their licensure and make an impactful enhancement to the nursing profession as well. He is an avid cycler, a comedian at heart, and a self-proclaimed Wu-Tang Clan fanatic who has helped over 300 nurses pass their licensure boards since 2019.

Teresa is a Consultant Nurse and Associate Director of Nursing & Quality in a Mental Health NHS Trust in the North of England. Prior to qualifying as a Nurse, she managed a Complementary Therapy Service in a Hospice, and qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist at the Christie Hospital in Manchester specialising in pain managment. She began her nursing career in forensics, working in a Secure Hospital prior to moving to a Category B Prison. From there she entered the private sector as a Clinical Services Manager with older adults before returning to the NHS where she has continued to work with older adults. Teresa is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner by background in Medical Rehabilitation for older adults and Community Frailty, she has recently graduated from the Flow Coach Academy and is due to commence a Professional Doctorate in 2023 looking at using Quality Improvement methodology to implement advanced care planning, working with the local Acute Hospital and local Hospice to break down organisation boundaries and encourage and support communities to start talking about death, dying and bereavement.

Dr. Lisa Thompson has been a Registered Nurse for more than 35 years. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and a certification in Nursing Professional Development. During her career, she has filled multiple roles in nursing including critical care staff nurse, nurse manager, nurse educator, and nurse administrator. She recently retired from a national hospital system where served as the corporate Vice President for Professional Development. During her career she served as the CNO for several small hospital corporations in Northeast Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and as an Interim Director of Nursing for various corporations through
her company Successful Outsourcing Strategies. Dr. Thompson also served in a variety of roles within VHA including interim Chief Nursing Officer for the Alexandria, LA, VAMC, the VHA National Program Manager for the pilot phase of the Aspire Program supporting VHA nurses who desired to become future Chief Nursing Officers, and at Robley Rex VAMedical Center as the Chief Learning Officer. In this role, she provided consultation, mentoring, and training for a variety of staff including facility Senior Leaders, Service Chiefs, supervisors, and aspiring leaders. Dr. Thompson served on numerous organizational and regional committees during her time at VHA, including Education, Employee Development, Strategic and Succession Planning, and the facility Leadership Council. Prior to her tenure at VHA, she was self-employed for 8 years filling a variety of consulting, education, and interim management roles in several large national corporations including Catholic Health Initiatives and Scripps Healthcare Corporation. Her professional member- ships include Sigma Theta Tau International and the Golden Key National Honor Society. To maintain her competency in nursing education, Dr. Thompson served as adjunct faculty in a RN-to-BSN program for a national university system.

Other than the Master of Nursing degree, I am also graduated in Nurse Specialist at Anestesiology and Intensive Care. I’m working on Intensive Care Unit Department in Medicover Hospital in Warsaw. On a daily basis I work with cardiac surgical patients, often in life-threatening conditions. Medicover Hospitals is a group hospital model and provides a huge range of clinical services. In my professional career I work with both adults and children. To maintain my competency in nursing education I’m working as a students teacher. I teach young nurses how to take care of a patient according to the latest standards, as well as teach them how to be a support for a patient in a difficult situation. Allison began her nursing career in Intensive Care which led her to develop one of the first pain services in England. Following this, she has worked as a Change Manager and Project Manager within the health sector. She has spent the last twelve years as a senior leader as Director/Associate Director of Nursing/Clinical Services in both the NHS and the private sector. Since 2015, Allison has worked as an interim in organi- sations across England. In these roles she has provided a variety of fine-tuned skills including, analysing and improving poor working cultures, operational management within financial constraints, managing flow from emergency departments throughout trusts in extremis, and strong and compassionate leadership.

Whilst most people experience a regulatory visit within the workplace every 2-3 years, due to the nature of interim work, Allison experiences this 2-3 times per year. Accordingly, she has developed the ability to analyse the needs of a Service and its staff and lead them rapidly through change. 

Through her leadership, staff are enabled to deliver improvements at pace and take credit and enjoy improved morale by doing so.

Olayinka Aremu is a Registered Nurse, Midwife and Public Health Nurse. A Ph.D. scholar at the Trinity college Dublin and a Clinical Nurse Manager with over 11 years of experience in nursing education, community health, and clinical practice. Having worked in a nursing home, care of older persons, Emergency dept and currently undergoing her Ph.D in Trinity College Dublin where she is developing a nurse-led Co-design care transition tool to improve discharge communications and care transition of older patients.

Olayinka is particularly passionate about ensuring smooth care transition for the vulnerable older population and a postgraduate research champion in Evidence- Based practice nurse on Discharge communication both in acute and community settings at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin Ireland.

Olayinka is an independent Nurse Coach and Mentor. She barged Master of Science degree in Community Health Nursing and a Postgraduate certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Management at Dorset College Dublin.

Olayinka is currently an active member of Sigma Nursing Phi-Gamma Virtual chapter and received a academic grant to motivate her in her PhD research work.
